Sealed Room
Dungeon you can enter after clearing Onigashima and visiting Shuten Summit.
Strong monsters appear from 1F, but you can bring allies and up to 11 items.
Don't let your guard down even with an assortment of powerful items.
The main objective is to rescue Shuten children who got lost inside the dungeon.
You'll be rewarded with an Ad Balloon castle decoration and a Shopkeeper
save file icon after rescuing all 5 children.
The children can be found on 20F, 30F, 40F, 50F, and 60F.
Similar to Shrine's Hidden Hole, the dungeon loops endlessly after 99F.
An Escape Scroll is always found on the ground the first time you reach 99F.
Multiple trips to the 70~80F Golden Interval are required if you want to complete
the shield gallery, since Dodge Shield and Reflect Shield are treasure chest exclusives.
Note that you can't enter Sealed Room until your next visit
to Shuten Summit if you process castle parts.

Shiren's stats reset when he enters this dungeon. (Level 1, strength 8/8, etc.)
There are generally fewer items per floor than other dungeons,
and the item table includes Gitan and negative effect items like Unlucky Seed
which can be problematic if thrown by Water Striders and Bored Kappa monsters.
It's best to throw grasses at enemies or use Identify Pots to identify
them instead of eating them yourself.
Shops and Traders don't appear in this dungeon, but a rare Special Monster House
called Hawker House can be generated, consisting of level 2 Traders called Hawkers.
They can have Angel Seeds for sale, so bring Gitan with you in case you run into one.
Note that Special Monster Houses no long appear after 88F.
Rescuing Children
- 1st child, Jiro, can be found on 20F.
- 2nd child, Taro, can be found on 30F.
- 3rd child can be found on 40F.
- 4th child can be found on 50F.
- 5th child, Dan, can be found on 60~99F.
Talking to a child will trigger an escape from the dungeon.
Rescuing the 5th child requires a free inventory slot so that you can accept a reward.
The score bonus from rescuing a child is significant, so you might want to leave
one child in a non-rescued state if aiming for a high score.
The order of children doesn't change even if you rescue a child on a later floor first.
For example, if you rescue your first child on 60F, it will count as the 20F child,
and you'll have to go to 60F again later to rescue the 5th child.
If a child is defeated or you descend to the next floor without talking to them,
the child will appear again on the next floor where children can appear.
(20F, 30F, 40F, 50F, and 60~99F)
The reward for rescuing all 5 children is an Ad Balloon castle decoration
and a Shopkeeper icon for your save file.
※ ※ ※ Warning ※ ※ ※
Only one Ad Balloon can be obtained per save file, so don't discard it!
Presto Pot Items
The Presto Pot item table for Sealed Room includes many rare weapons and shields,
and the table doesn't seem to change based on floor number, so the idea is to bring
Presto Pots and use them on 1F to obtain items like Kabura's Blade, Fuuma Shield,
Echo Shield, etc. to help you prepare for a deeper run.
Use an Armordillo Pop in Onigashima or Shuten Trail Mid to obtain Presto Pots,
and then collect a stack of 99 arrows to use as transformation fodder.
Suction Scrolls let you reuse Presto Pots, so bring those if you find some too.
Once you're ready, simply enter Sealed Room and insert 1 arrow at a time into the pots.
Be careful not to insert your weapon by accident while navigating menus too quickly.
The monsters on 1F can be tough, so consider bringing a strong shield,
a scroll for emergencies, and a powerful ally monster to take care of enemies.
Bring Mamo along to carry more items into the dungeon if desired.
It's possible to cheat by copying your save file to a controller pak beforehand.
If you didn't get what you wanted, just copy the save file from the controller pak.
However, your save file will permanently show a . instead of : after the file number
in the main menu, making it clear that you copied the data from a controller pak.
It doesn't affect anything gameplay wise, but it's something to keep in mind
if you're aiming for a "clean" 100% completion of the game.
Preparations
A strong weapon and shield is pretty much mandatory.
You'll want a minimum of +50 upgrade value, and +99 is ideal.
Collect Blank Scrolls in Onigashima and synthesize them with a weapon
or shield to increase the item's number of available synthesis slots.
The quickest way to increase upgrade value is to use an ally Iai monster.
Use its special attack to collect weapons and shields with positive upgrade values,
and synthesize the equipment using an ally Mixer monster.
Remember, you need to trip the ally Mixer to collect the synthesized item,
so use an Armordillo or such before returning the Mixer to its pot.
Weapon
Main weapon
Name | Atk | Slot | How to Obtain |
---|---|---|---|
Kaburasutegi | 99 | 12 | Kabura's Blade (月, 火, 水, 木, 金) → Blacksmith. |
Sacred Sword | 8 | 14 | 2nd Sealed Room Golden Interval. |
Ryujin Sword | 25 | 7+龍 | Synthesize 3 竜 seals onto a Dragon Killer. |
Dragon Killer | 15 | 7+竜 | Onigashima Golden Interval. |
Crescent Arm | 14 | 6+月 | Clear Onigashima again after finishing the story. |
Kabura's Blade | 18 | 5 | Presto Pot in Sealed Room, or a secret phrase. |
Kabura's Blade can be obtained from a Presto Pot inside Sealed Room,
so you could work on creating a Kaburasutegi before attempting a deeper run.
The others can be obtained from Onigashima Golden Intervals, excluding
Crescent Arm which is a guaranteed reward for defeating Boss Oni again.
Sacred Sword is only found inside the 2nd Sealed Room Golden Interval,
so it's not an option for your first run.
Weapon Seals
Seal | Notes |
---|---|
三, 回, 必, 金 | The essentials. (Red 金, not blue) |
龍, 仏, ド, 目 | Next priority to increase damage output. |
弟, 眠, 飯, 火 | Preference for leftover slots. |
幸, 天 | Better on a secondary sword for early game. |
必 (Homing Blade) can be found inside the 1st Golden Interval in Sealed Room,
which has a 30% chance of being generated between 6~10F.
Shield
Main Shield
Name | Def | Slot | How to Obtain |
---|---|---|---|
Helix Shield | 50 | 12 | Insert a Fuuma Shield+99 into a Presto Pot. |
Sacred Shield | 8 | 16 | 2nd Sealed Room Golden Interval. |
Fuuma Shield | 16 | 6 | Presto Pot in Sealed Room, or a secret phrase. |
Dragon Shield | 14 | 5+竜 | Onigashima Golden Interval. |
Leather Shield | 4 | 5+皮金 | Shuten Trails or Onigashima. |
Walrus Shield | 6 | 6+ト | Traders in Onigashima. |
Fuuma Shield can be obtained from a Presto Pot inside Sealed Room,
so you could work on creating a Helix Shield before attempting a deeper run.
The others can be obtained in Onigashima, excluding Sacred Shield.
If you have a Leather Shield+99 (弟弟弟弟弟) from playing Shrine's Hidden Hole,
you can probably just run this dungeon using that shield and be fine.
Shield Seals
Seal | Notes |
---|---|
皮, 竜, 金 | The essentials. (Red 金, not blue) |
山, ト, 見 | Incredibly effective, but rare. |
爆, 眠, 弟 | Stack 3~4 弟 to really feel its effect. |
火 | Dragon Shield (火弟弟弟弟) for Archdragons. |
山 (Echo Shield) can be obtained from a Presto Pot in Sealed Room.
カ (Traproid Shield) is extremely effective, but can only be obtained from
Halfway Well Golden Interval treasure chests, so it's not in the list.
Other Items
- Scout Bracelet
- Keep it equipped in hallways, and unequip it when you need to fight.
Bring 3~5 bracelets for safety, and switch them out when they crack.
They can be repaired using Plating Scrolls you find on the ground.
- Keep it equipped in hallways, and unequip it when you need to fight.
- Phantasm Bracelet
- Fight enemies from inside walls to avoid damage and special attacks.
Your HP decreases each turn inside walls, but you'll be fine with the 回 seal.
Easy to obtain in Onigashima Golden Intervals if you use an ally Shihan.
- Fight enemies from inside walls to avoid damage and special attacks.
- Pierce Bracelet
- Gitan is common in this dungeon, and can be used as a projectile.
Mixers and Synthesis Pots can't be found, so there's little risk of losing items.
- Gitan is common in this dungeon, and can be used as a projectile.
- Trapper Bracelet
- Obtained in Halfway Well, and used to collect pitfalls, springs, and poison traps.
It cracks far more easily than other bracelets, and Shiren's attack power is
dramatically reduced while it's equipped, so unequip it before fighting.
- Obtained in Halfway Well, and used to collect pitfalls, springs, and poison traps.
- Revival Grass
- Automatically restores HP, strength, and fullness to max if you collapse.
Sleep traps, Bored Kappas throwing Gitan, etc. can cause accidental collapses
even with strong equipment, so bring at least 5, and keep 2~3 outside of pots.
If you run out of Revival Grass, it's best to read an Escape Scroll.
- Automatically restores HP, strength, and fullness to max if you collapse.
- Balance Staff
- Required to prevent item loss from Armordillo monsters and trip stones.
- Other Staves
- Slow, Possession, Knockback, etc. are nice to have on hand.
- Blank Scroll
- Rarely sold by Traders or shops in Onigashima.
Read an Extinction Scroll in Road to the End to be able to write Extinction on it.
- Rarely sold by Traders or shops in Onigashima.
- Escape Scroll
- Keep 1 inside a Storage Pot, and read it if you feel like you've reached your limit.
- Great Hall Scroll
- Bring a bunch if you're aiming to collect rare items from Golden Intervals.
Easier to obtain from Halfway Well than Onigashima.
- Bring a bunch if you're aiming to collect rare items from Golden Intervals.
- Storage Pot
- Lets you bring more items in, along with being able to stock Gitan as projectiles.
- Monster Pot (Empty)
- If you want to capture Tauros and N'dubba monsters for Monster Kingdom.
- Strength Gainer + Boost Grass
- Takes effort to prepare, but having high strength greatly lowers the difficulty.
Kaburasutegi+99 at 8 strength can't always defeat Shihan and Megataur in 1 hit.
- Takes effort to prepare, but having high strength greatly lowers the difficulty.
- Other Items
- Warp Grass, Sanctuary Scroll, etc. to escape sticky situations.
Disposable Sword with the か seal is great to have as a food source.
- Warp Grass, Sanctuary Scroll, etc. to escape sticky situations.
Allies
Asuka
Asuka equipped with powerful items can prove to be a very reliable ally.
She'll catch your equipment if she's behind you when a Kengo monster disarms you.
That said, don't be surprised if she loses her equipment due to a Kengo monster.
Consider giving her non-upgraded basics like Ryujin Sword, Heavy Shield,
and 2 Strength Bracelets so you don't get too down if that happens.
Mamo
Bring Mamo along to carry in up to 21 items instead of 11.
Players often do this with Monster Pots to capture monsters for Monster Kingdom.
Himakichi, Riku, Kirara
It's best to leave these three behind, since having them behind you increases
the risk of losing your equipment if a Kengo monster disarms you in a hallway.
Likewise, some use a Possession Staff to defeat Mamo after withdrawing items.
Monster Pots
Ally monsters generally make for better companions than ally characters.
However, the downside is that ally monsters can be one-shot by explosions
caused by Landmines, Bomber Statues, and Patient Bags.
High level monsters near the end of the dungeon can overpower ally monsters,
and bringing lots of ally monsters means you have fewer other items to work with,
so it's best to limit the number of ally monster pots to 2~3 pots.
- Armordillo Pop
- There's little reason to make monsters trip to collect items,
since the item table for this dungeon doesn't include anything noteworthy.
However, it's a different story if you manage to find a Golden Interval,
as you can collect lots of exclusive equipment and Heaven and Earth scrolls.
- There's little reason to make monsters trip to collect items,
- Shihan
- Great for collecting exclusive equipment inside Golden Intervals,
and has high enough stats that it can be used to fight enemies.
- Great for collecting exclusive equipment inside Golden Intervals,
- Cranky Tank
- Can be used to search for Golden Intervals if you have a Possession Staff.
However, doing so takes a while, so just use Great Hall Scrolls.
- Can be used to search for Golden Intervals if you have a Possession Staff.
- Nigiri Master
- Solves hunger issues as long as the Nigiri Master stays alive.
- Water Shinryu
- Extremely high attack power at max growth, and can attack on land.
- Hyper Gazer
- Disable enemies with dangerous special attacks by confusing them,
and also reduces the odds of getting hit by enemy direct attacks.
- Disable enemies with dangerous special attacks by confusing them,
- Monsoon Doll
- Seal enemies with dangerous special attacks.
It can't disable direct attacks, but has high enough stats to fight.
- Seal enemies with dangerous special attacks.
- Tiny Phoenix
- Useful as a healer when there's a far away Archdragon.
It has low stats, so don't let it fight strong enemies.
- Useful as a healer when there's a far away Archdragon.
- Queen Spider
- Strongest brawler monster in the game, and can fight even late game.
It has 770 HP and 390 attack at max growth.
- Strongest brawler monster in the game, and can fight even late game.
Floor Guide
Particularly dangerous monsters:
Monster | Floor | Notes |
---|---|---|
Kengo | 2~4F | Appears as early as 2F, and can fling your shield away. Equip a Scout Bracelet, or have an ally monster lead in hallways. |
Iai | 13~17F | Waterways are common on these floors, so you risk losing equipment. Level Shiren up beforehand so that you can defeat it in one hit. |
Monsoon Doll | 21~30F | Erases synthesis seals. Make use of Scout and Phantasm bracelets to avoid its attacks. |
Archdragon | 20~35F | Breathes 35 damage fire from anywhere on the floor, even in walls. Use a secondary shield with 竜火 and multiple 弟 to reduce damage. |
Shihan | 31~40F | Flings any piece of equipment you have equipped. High stats, so you likely won't be able to defeat it in one hit. |
1-10F
There's a chance you'll be surrouded by monsters at the start, so keep your equipment
and Revival Grass in the same pot so that you can take them out in a single turn.
You can equip your sword and shield in Napus Village first if you want to be safe.
Shiren's stats will reset when you enter, so the first thing you'll want to do is level up.
For example, you can feed Riku and an ally Snacky to a Scorpion to level it up,
and then throw 1250 or more Gitan to one-shot the Stun Scorpion for 4900 exp.
Patient Bag appears between 1~10F.
It has 120 HP and high attack for 1F, and explodes when its HP drops below 11.
Bracelets crack more easily from explosions, so unequip them before fighting it.
They're worth 200 exp, so try to defeat them instead of having them explode.
Kengo appears from 2~4F and can fling your equipped shield away.
Keep a Scout Bracelet equipped so you don't get hit by a surprise attack.
If you leveled up on 1F as recommended, you could keep your shield unequipped.
Asuka will catch your shield if she's behind you.
Water Strider appears between 5~7F.
Gitan is common, so they can potentially one-shot you by throwing Gitan.
Use arrows and staves to defeat or stop them from throwing Gitan from a distance.
There's a 30% chance for golden stairs to be generated inside a wall tile on 6~10F,
so read Great Hall Scrolls if you want to enter the first Golden Interval.
It takes more time, but you can level a Pop Tank up and control the Cranky Tank
using a Possession Staff to break walls with cannonballs as well.
11-19F
Iai appears between 13~17F. It's tough to defeat it quickly at such an early point
in the dungeon, so think of it as a level and equipment check.
Bored Kappa appears between 14~17F, so beware of the combo of Iai disarming
your sword or shield and Bored Kappa walking to it up and throwing it at you.
Use a Slumber Scroll or Swap Staff if a Bored Kappa moves on top of your equipment.
Gazelle Pope (13~15F) can be dangerous if you don't have the 山 seal (Echo Shield),
along with Gyandora (16~30F) if you don't have the ト seal (Walrus Shield).
You can always defeat them in one hit if you have a Kaburasutegi+99 with the 必 seal.
20-30F
The 1st child can be found on 20F, so talk to them and return to Shuten Summit.
Don't worry if you accidentally defeat them or proceed without talking to them,
as they'll appear again on the next floor where children can appear.
Archdragon appears between 20~35F.
You'll be fine if you have a secondary shield with 竜火 and multiple 弟 seals.
However, if you don't have a secondary shield, you'll want to rush to the stairs
and then make up for the missed level ups by using projectiles or other items.
Monsoon Doll appears between 21~30F.
Their special attack isn't as bad as Kengo monsters since there's no risk of losing
equipment, but losing valuable synthesis seals is still something you want to avoid.
Equip a Scout Bracelet and use staves or ally monsters to avoid their special attack.
Bellthoven (25~36F) can summon up to three level 3 monsters on the same turn.
Lure them into a hallway to limit their summoning to 1 monster per turn,
or else you might find yourself quickly surrounded by 3 Stun Scorpions or such.
The 2nd child can be found on 30F.
32-44F
Shihan appears between 31~40F.
Equip a Scout Bracelet while walking in hallways to avoid surprise attacks.
It has high stats, so you're unlikely to defeat it in one hit even with a strong sword.
Use a Phantasm Bracelet to attack from inside walls or around corners.
Read a Slumber Scroll or eat Warp Grass if you step on a Summon Trap
and become surrounded by multiple Shihans.
Tiny Phoenix (20~99F) can warp to Shihan or other monsters and heal them,
negating any damage you dealt.
Kappa Pest appears between 31~49F, so beware of Shihan flinging equipped items
followed by Kappa Pest throwing said equipment at you.
Spiked Voodoll (31~39F) curses bracelets, so don't let them use their special attack.
The 3rd child can be found on 40F.
45-99F
End game monsters like Emperor Tusker, Typhoon, Stun Scorpion, etc. appear.
You shouldn't have too much trouble if your equipment is sufficiently strong,
and you have seals like ト and 山 to block or reflect their special attacks.
The monster lineup doesn't change much from this point.
Typhoon will quickly shatter bracelets if you keep them equipped,
so consider throwing an Extinction Scroll at them.
The 4th child can be found on 50F, and the 5th child on any floor between 60~99F.
Golden stairs for the 2nd Golden Interval has a 30% chance to spawn between 70~80F.
Be sure to visit it if you're looking to finish the equipment gallery, as there are many
weapons and shields exclusively found in this second Golden Interval.
Minotaur (78~85F) and Megataur (86F~) make an appearance near the end.
Don't forget to capture them if you still need to register them to Monster Kingdom.
The only way to capture a Taur is to lower the level of a Minotaur or Megataur,
which can be done using items like Twisty Grass, Unlucky Seed, or Unlucky Staff.
Remember to search for rare N'dubba ages if you wish to complete Monster Kingdom.
The floor number = N'dubba's age. (example: 99F = N'dubba 99yr)
Golden Interval
First (6-10F)
Strategy
There's a 30% chance for Golden Stairs to be hidden in a wall tile between 6~10F.
You'll return to 11F after exiting from the Golden Interval area.
Snacky appears between 1~2F and can cause enemy monsters to level up.
If you're unlucky, you can end up with an Iai or other strong monster roaming the floor.
Aside from that, the monster table doesn't include anything threatening.
Heaven and Earth are the only scrolls that can be found in this Golden Interval,
so an Armordillo Pop can be used to quickly strengthen equipment.
Homing Blade is exclusively found in this Golden Interval (excluding Secret Phrases),
and provides the 必 seal which ensures that your direct attacks never miss.
Synthesize it onto your main weapon before attempting a deeper run.
Froggo Shield is a collector's item that is also exclusive to this Golden Interval.
Be sure to pick one up for the gallery if you haven't already done so.
Golden Interval Items
Category | Items |
---|---|
Weapon | Homing Blade |
Shield | Froggo Shield |
Bracelet | Parry Bracelet, Paper Thin Bracelet |
Scroll | Heaven Scroll, Earth Scroll |
Gitan | 10~2000 Gitan |
Treasure | Golden Sword, Golden Shield, Wooden Shield, Evasive Shield, Happy Shield, Echo Shield, Critical Arrow, Razor Arrow, Revival Grass, Angel Seed, Sanctuary Scroll |
Second (70-80F)
Strategy
There's a 30% chance for Golden Stairs to be hidden in a wall tile between 70~80F.
You'll return to 81F after exiting from the Golden Interval area.
Shihan makes a return, so don't let your guard down while you hunt for items.
King Tusker and Monarch Tusker also make an appearance, which can be
troublesome if you don't have the 山 seal from an Echo Shield.
The 2nd Golden Interval has many exclusive items that differ from the first one.
Sacred Sword and Sacred Shield have 14 and 16 slots respectively,
making them excellent options as both main or secondary equipment.
Fill a Sacred Sword with 幸 or 天 seals and use it as early game level up weapon,
stack 14 火 seals to deal 60 damage per swing at full HP, etc.
They can also be used as seal containers to free up storage space.
Synthesize a Dodge Shield or Reflect Shield to make most projectiles a non-issue.
The 身 seal is better, since it lets you dodge Silver Arrows from Horse Ronin monsters.
You can only obtain one randomly selected treasure chest item per Golden Interval,
so you'll have to make at least one more trip if you want to collect both shields.
