Destiny's Descent
Standard unidentified items post-game dungeon, but with a day and night cycle.
Only basic weapons and shields can be found on the ground, and Mixers only spawn at night.
The monster table is on the harsh side, Ominous Aura occurs earlier, enemies can have auras from 3F, etc.
The easiest strategy is to cycle time of day on safe floors, and rush stairs at night on dangerous floors,
as opposed to strengthening Shiren and fighting enemies like a standard dungeon.
Abilities like Stairlight, Pot Party, and Transmogrification are highly recommended.
Lastly, there are guaranteed shops on 25F and 51F.
Overview
Unlock | Wish to play a tougher dungeon in Inori Cave. |
---|---|
Entrance | Tower of Fortune Entrance (Center stairs) |
※ Numbers in () for day and night turns is when the warning is displayed.
Strategy
General
Monsterphobic has a chance to appear from 12F, and greatly lowers the difficulty. (Monster Detector doesn't exist)
Ominous Aura occurs after 700 turns, so you can't linger on a floor for a very long time to level equipment or such.
Therefore, the most common strategy is to cycle time of day on safe floors, and rush stairs at night.
Time cycle event turns
Day Begins (Start) | Sunset Notice | Night Begins | Sunrise Notice | Day Begins |
---|---|---|---|---|
0 | 620 | 90 | 410 | 58 |
So after 620 turns, the sunset notice is displayed, and then after another 90 turns, it switches to night, and so on.
Other notes
- Day lasts 710 turns, and night lasts 468 turns.
- Torches dim by 1 stage after 250 turns (500 if blessed).
- FG (1 fullness = 10 turns) or Live Display view can be used to keep track of elapsed turns if desired.
- Fort. Staff, Paralysis Staff, and other items used for cycling time of day should be conserved.
- Spring room floors can be used to safely cycle time of day without items.
Abilities
Recommended sets
1. Crawling Electrocute + Support
- Stairlight
- Sticky Shot or Kaboom Bullet or Transmogrification x 2
- Pot Party x 2
- Electrocute
- Crawling Confusion
- Chakra Cleanse or Room Healing Flash
2. No Crawling Electrocute
- Stairlight
- Sticky Shot or Kaboom Bullet or Transmogrification x 3
- Pot Party x 2
- Room Healing Flash or Self-Help
- Chakra Cleanse
Notes
Stairlight
- Reveals where the stairs are located - Essential for rushing stairs on late game floors.
- Only reveals real stairs, so it makes Stairs? Trap a non-issue.
Pot Party
- Deals a bit of damage and inflicts Hiding status on all enemies in the room.
- Hiding status has an infinite duration, and works on Shopkeepers and Pumphantasms inside walls.
- Status is canceled by lava, Cure Monster Trap, Flarebird, Absorbiphant.
- Can be used to block off a hallway and safely cycle to daytime.
Crawling Confusion
- Powerful with Electrocute, but using it introduces a lot of risk - Don't use it on every floor.
- Always have a torch equipped beforehand to reduce damage if a confused monster hits you.
- Never use it on floors where Filthy Shagga, Evil Explochin, and Dark Absorbiphant types appear.
- Safer if you're adjacent to a wall, but then you might not gather all enemies.
- Initial enemies increases the deeper you progress, Floaty floors / Monster Houses, etc.
- Aim for the Cross formation on Bad Zalokleft and Dark Grass Kid floors.
- Use it immediately on floors where Dark Fearabbit and higher level DJ Mage / Mutaikons appear.
- Dark Zapdon types act on the first turn, so use it on turn 2 for added safety.
- Similarly, if you have swift action speed from Super status, use it on turn 2 for added safety.
Electrocute
- Mostly used after Crawling Confusion - Gain experience points, Super status, and shop table drops.
- Range of 1 tile in front, and can't go through corners, so lackluster without Crawling Confusion.
Transmogrification
- One-shots an enemy in front of you by turning them into an item. (Floor table, never cursed or blessed)
- Since the item is never cursed, it's safe to immediately equip bracelets obtained using this ability.
- This is true even for bracelets that are normally found cursed, such as Itemphobic.
Kaboom Bullet
- Highest power among long-ranged, single-target abilities.
- Some end game monsters like Evil Abyss Dragon and Filthy Bashagga can survive 1 hit.
Sticky Shot
- Not as strong as Kaboom Bullet, but leaves the target paralyzed if they survive.
- Great against blue aura monsters in particular, but avoid Dark Absorbiphant types.
Chakra Cleanse
- Automatically cures the status if you become afflicted with a negative status condition at night.
- Offers safety while identifying items, since it works for Rage Grass, Grounded Scroll, Sticky Pot, etc.
Room Healing Flash
- Often paired with Crawling Electrocute by players who like to keep using that combo on deeper floors.
- Nice to have as insurance against surprise attacks, and Evil Abyss Dragon's fire near the end.
Self-Help
- Adds +1 to the amount of HP naturally regenerated per turn for the duration of the floor.
- It's a quick way to increase survivability against day monsters.
Identifying Items
See Identifying Items for additional tips.
3 Key Points
- Unidentified items are auto-identified if they're used to synthesize a rune using Dark Mixers.
- Items dropped by night monsters are always blessed shop table items.
- Imitation (joke) items like Dog Onigiri, Rightstone, Suicide Arrow can only be found starting from 12F.
- Bracelets found between 1〜11F are never Monsterphobic or Itemphobic.
Grass
- Identify by synthesis or price.
- If you have duplicates, it's best to eat them during the day when there are no nearby enemies.
- Nymph Grass wastes a torch if you eat it at night.
- Rage Grass will likely cause a game over if you don't have Chakra Cleanse.
- Never eat grasses dropped by night monsters starting from 12F.
- 12F〜 - Imabikiso, Amnesia Grass
- 24F〜 - SuperUnlucky Seed
Scroll
- Identify by price.
- Read scrolls in the dark or while afflicted with Blind status to check for selection-based scrolls.
- Elite and Pick-A-Choice shops only have 4 possibilities - Extinction, Sanctuary, Fate, and Earth.
Pot
- Identify by inserting items or price.
- Insert unidentified weapons or shields, since talismans can't be blessed or sealed.
- Unless it's a 1150G pot in a shop, which could be a Fever Pot, so insert talismans or arrows.
- If inserting at night, beware of Sticky Pot if you don't have Immune status or Chakra Cleanse.
- Equipped torch will be lost, and you won't be able to use any abilities.
- Hit or get hit by enemies, step on a Strip Trap, or advance to the next floor to free your hand.
- Fragrance pots can only be found between 1〜41F.
Equipment
Torch
Torches reduce damage from night monsters while equipped, so don't be stingy.
Without a torch, you can collapse from a single Lv2 monster's attack.
- Super Torch
- Stock up on these for the 2nd half of the dungeon if you don't have a Monsterphobic.
Seriously, don't discard Super Torches - you need them to rush stairs at night late game.
- Stock up on these for the 2nd half of the dungeon if you don't have a Monsterphobic.
- Fine Torch
- Use these early to mid game instead of Super Torches.
1 Fine Torch lasts the entire night, but beware of Strip Trap, Rust Trap, and Shady Mudkins.
Somewhat risky to use instead of Super Torch on floors where Vile Pumphantasms appear.
- Use these early to mid game instead of Super Torches.
- Torch
- Unneeded - Only obtainable from Presto Pot or Zaloklefts.
Good item to insert into unidentified pots.
- Unneeded - Only obtainable from Presto Pot or Zaloklefts.
Weapon
Only basic weapons can be found on the ground, so choose one based on your shield.
Don't needlessly equip unidentified weapons, since a cursed weapon means you can't equip a torch.
Basic
- Red Blade
- Low starting rune slots, slow growth can be a problem.

Pretty solid option for those who like to synthesize a lot by mid game.

Absorbiphants are a big problem, and only 12 rune slots at Lv8.
- Paralyzed enemies can be used to block off hallways and safely wait for night.
- Hatchet
- Elite shop exclusive - Fast growth, strong ability, but only 11 rune slots at Lv8.
- Blurry Stick
- Not recommended - Basically a worse Baffle Axe in both ability and growth rate.
- Water Cutter, Scythe
- Wide range of effectiveness, lots of rune slots, fast growth.
Runes
Shield runes should be prioritized over weapon runes in terms of carrying synthesis ingredients,
but you need to be able to fight daytime enemies to some degree, so don't completely neglect your weapon.
Rune | Items | Notes |
---|---|---|
Anti-Floating | Warp Grass Sky Splitter | Effective against a wide variety of monster families. Dagger Bee (16-18F) appears after Dark Mixer (14-16F), so it helps with leveling equipment. |

- Steady Shield
- Use it as a secondary shield for higher level Fearabbit and Dark Fearabbit floors.
- Blazing Shield
- Its resonance effect is a balance breaker as a secondary shield for night.
Synthesize Anti-Fire if possible.
- Its resonance effect is a balance breaker as a secondary shield for night.
- Snake Shield
- Slow growth rate, but some like to level it as a secondary shield for Evil Abyss Dragon floors.
- Glass Buckler, Shoddy Plank
- Use it as a secondary shield for night if you're using a Day Shield.
- Seal it by synthesizing a sealed grass item if you want to use it during the day.
Runes
Shields often end up having spare slots compared to weapons, so don't be super conservative.
For example, it's fine to synthesize max HP increasing runes if you have Life Grass or Heal Grass on hand.
Rune | Items | Notes |
---|---|---|
Anti-Fire | Dragon Grass Snake Shield | Archdragon and Abyss Dragon floors are a nightmare without this. Synthesize it early - 2 chances to farm grass (3-5F and 13F) before Dark Mixers (14-16F). |
Anti-Blast | Blast Shield | Shop exclusive - Significant help against Pop Tanks, Explochins, Explosion Traps. |

- Glorious Staff
- Level up a Pit Mamel or Nigiri Baby and defeat it for experience points.

Talisman
In this game, all talismans have the secondary effect of removing monster auras.
It's good to keep at least 1 type on hand for Floaty monsters in particular.
- Fear Talisman
- Shuts down both direct attacks and special attacks, and lasts 15 turns.
- Can cause accidents if there are many monsters bunched up.
Grass
Undo Grass can't be found, so any 1500G grass you see in shops is guaranteed to be Repeat Grass.
- Revival Grass
- Super high priority item - Don't eat unidentified grass until it's been identified.
- Save Blessing Scroll and Blessing Pot for Revival Grass.
- Invincible Grass
- 2000G grass found on the ground which couldn't be synthesized is likely to be this grass.
Handy for Cranky Tanks and Abyss Dragons, but Absorbiphants can cancel the status.

A □ □ □ A A A - Use Crawling Confusion, and check if εFO-UZZ is present.
- Wait until εFO-UZZ moves to one of the air tiles in the diagram, then use Pot Party.
- εFO-UZZ will plummet and be instantly defeated, but will still drop Revival Grass.
Transmogrification and fixed damage like Electrocute Staff cannot be used.
4-2-8 Pot, Explosion Bracelet, and Three Screams can be used.
Maneater
Defeat Maneaters for shop items, experience points, and skill points - See Maneater Hunting for an explanation.
Floor Guide
General
The table under floor ranges lists notable monsters, not necessarily all monsters.
The easiest strategy is to cycle time of day using items, and rush stairs at night.
Powerful equipment like Day Shield and Dirk of Debts are shop exclusive and it's hard to upgrade equipment,
so it's common to not be able to trade hits with day monsters from around 25F.
Therefore, it's probably easier to progress at night for most of the dungeon after 25F.
Use Transmogrification or search for floor items if you're running low on items.
Early Game
The road to Dark Mixers (14-16F).
Inventory space is limited, so prioritize shields with positive upgrade value as synthesis fodder.
1-2F
Day | Seedie (1-2F), Chow (2-3F) |
---|---|
Night | - |
Seedie is dangerous until you level up or find a shield.
Take your time - if you descend too fast, Maneaters will spawn on 3F while waiting for daytime.
If you find Gitan, swap it with an inventory item to prepare for a potential Cave Mamel on 3F.
No traps on 1F, and no ominous auras between 1-2F.
3F
Day | Pit Mamel (3-5F), Grass Kid (3-5F), Chow (2-3F) |
---|---|
Night | Putrid Sweet Nut (2-4F) |
Test unidentified talismans and staves on Pit Mamels.
You're far less likely to collapse at night early game if you defeat a Cave Mamel or Gitan Mamel to level up.
After checking for items, search for a safe-looking hallway or room where you can cycle time of day.
It should be near the stairs to reduce the risk of encountering Maneaters if Ominous Aura occurs.
Once it's night, step in place in the spot you chose (hold B and tap A) until it switches back to daytime.
If you weren't able to find a safe spot in time, equip a Fine Torch, but don't descend to 4F at night,
since you risk collapsing from a Filthy Shagga between 4-6F if you do so.
1 Large Onigiri will likely be consumed at this point, unless you found a Diet Shield.
If you arrived on 3F too early, Ominous Aura will occur while cycling time of day - rush to the stairs.
Crawling Confusion is risky due to Putrid Sweet Nuts, but it's only 3F, so you could gamble for experience points.
4-6F
Day | Pit Mamel (3-5F), Grass Kid (3-5F), Karakuroid (6-8F) |
---|---|
Night | Filthy Shagga (4-6F), Dark Karakuroid (4-5F), Dark Absorbiphant (4-5F), Dark Field Knave (5-6F) |
Filthy Shaggas (4-6F) will end your run from a single missed input, so it's best to progress during the day.
If you're confident that you won't make a mistake, or you want to farm items using Transmogrification,
go ahead and try progressing at night - don't use Crawling Confusion.
If you're doing fine on time, hunt a few Grass Kids (4-5F) and/or have a Karakuroid (6F) create a Strip Trap
and check weapons and shields for curses and bracelets for effects.
7F
Day | Karakuroid (6-8F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Kumonigiri (6-8F) |
It should be night if you progressed through 4-6F during the day - Crawling Confusion is fine.
Your inventory is likely packed at this point, so it's time to start identifying if you haven't done so already.
Identify grass and pots during the day, since you don't want to waste a torch from Nymph Grass or Sticky Pot.
8-9F
Day | Pop Tank (8-10F), Curse Girl (8-9F), Karakuroid (6-8F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Kumonigiri (6-8F), Evil Gazer (9-10F), Plump Chow (8-9F), εFO-Uβ (9F) |
Karakuroid appears until 8F, so daytime of 8F is your last chance to check equipment using a Strip Trap.
If Curse Girl curses your equipped weapon, you won't be able to equip a torch, which might be game over.
Night might be best, since you can skip Pop Tanks and hunt Plump Chows - Crawling Confusion is fine.
10-13F
Day | Pop Tank (8-10F), N'dubba (10-11F), Mutaikon (11-12F), Kumonigiri (11-12F), Swordsman (12-13F), Snacky (13-15F), FO-Uβ (13F) |
---|---|
Night | Evil Gazer (9-10F), Dark N'dubba (10-11F), Dark Grass Kid (13F) |
N'dubba spawns both day and night between 10-11F, so it's best to check items during the day.
If you have an unknown bracelet (non-cursed), equip it in hopes of it being Cleansing Bracelet.
You can fully replenish fullness and identify Poison Grass using Mutaikons (11-12F) if you have that bracelet.
Kumonigiri 11-12F can help replenish fullness with Onigiri drops.
Hunt Dark Grass Kids (13F) to obtain grass for the upcoming Dark Mixer floors - Crawling Confusion is fine.
Ominous Aura doesn't occur between 11-13F.
14-16F
Day | Snacky (13-15F), Kid Squid (14-16F), Field Knave (15F), Foly (15-17F), Dagger Bee (16-18F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Mixer (14-16F) |
Dark Mixers appear, so it's time to synthesize as much as possible.
Use Crawling Confusion → Pot Party, then throw items at Dark Mixers in pots to synthesize.
This goes without saying, but make note of where Dark Mixers are positioned before using Pot Party.
Dark Mixers might not survive Pot Party if you have Super status, so disable Super status beforehand.
Field Knave spawns during the day on 15F, so arrive during the night if you want to ensure item collection.
Have Field Knave turn an unneeded item into Weeds, then synthesize Weeds into your weapon for Anti-Plant.
Floors 16-20F have lava and lack walls, so avoid synthesizing outside of the stairs room.
If you don't synthesize here, you likely won't be able to trade hits with day monsters going forward.
Pit Traps and Floor Warp Traps can appear, so consider checking for traps.
Mid Game
Floor range where the focus is on collecting items.
Aim for 3 Super Torches or a Monsterphobic before reaching late game.
17-18F
Day | Zalokleft (17-18F), Scoopie (17-19F), Dagger Bee (16-18F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark MC Mage (17-18F), Snide Froggo (17-18F), Dark Cross Cart (17-18F), Bad Cololum (17-18F) |
Hunt Dagger Bees to level up equipment.
Navigation Scroll or Perceptive Pot make it easier to farm items from Zaloklefts.
Have Scoopie fill unneeded pots with dirt in hopes of obtaining Revival Grass.
There's a guaranteed shop on 25F, so hunt Snide Froggos if you're short on cash - Crawling Confusion is fine.
19F
Day | Gazer (19-21F), Scoopie (17-19F), Boy Cart (19-20F), DJ Mage (19-21F), Beanie (19-20F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Zapdon (19-20F), Foul Nigiri Morph (19-20F), Evil Dragon (19-21F), Evil Super Gazer (19-20F) |
If you found a Dodger Pot, collect arrows from a Boy Cart in the stairs room. (or wait until 28F for Cross Cart)
The combination of no walls + Gazer hypnosis can cause item loss, so it's likely safer at night.
Beware of Dark Zapdon's high attack power - don't use Crawling Confusion.
20-24F
Day | Gazer (19-21F), Green Zalokleft (21-23F), Grass Dude (20-22F), Nigiri Morph (22-23F), Grampa Tank (23-24F), Absorbiphant (23-25F) |
---|---|
Night | Filthy Nashagga (21-23F), Evil Explochin (22-23F), Dark Fearabbit (21-22F), Dark Digestiphant (23-24F), Vile Pumphantasm (23-24F) |
Probably safer to progress during the day - some prefer to rush stairs instead of lingering in this range.
Place items in the stairs room (keep grass in pots) and hunt Green Zaloklefts and Grass Dudes for items if you want.
If you've been hunting Grass Kids up to this point, grass identification should be nearly finished.
If performing Nigiri Morph Factory, cycle to sunrise on 21F, then descend and finish up before sunset on 22F.
If time of day switches mid-factory, Nigiri Morph vanishes, and there's a higher risk of encountering Ominous Aura.
That said, 21-22F is very dangerous at night due to the combination of Filthy Nashagga and Dark Fearabbit.
Avoid cycling time of day in rooms - don't use Crawling Confusion. (23-24F has Digestiphants instead of Fearabbits)
25F
Day | Hipadile (25-27F), Absorbiphant (23-25F), Cursister (25-26F), Punisher (25-27F) |
---|---|
Night | Bad Zalokleft (24-25F), Dark Kappa Pest (25-26F), Dark Grampa Tank (25-26F) |
A shop is always generated on 25F, so be sure to check it out - Crawling Confusion is fine.
Night is safer from 26-30F, so cycle to night before descending if possible.
26-27F
Day | Hipadile (25-27F), Muddy (26-28F), Spadie (26-28F), Cursister (25-26F), Explochin (27-29F) |
---|---|
Night | εFO-U (26-27F), Dark Kappa Pest (25-26F), Plump Snacky (27-29F), Dark Dazikon (26-27F), Dark Grampa Tank (25-26F) |
26-30F are water floors with lots of Aquatic and Floating types during the day, so it's best to arrive at night.
Many players rush to the stairs instead of farming monsters for drops - Crawling Confusion is fine.
εFO-U drops blessed Cheery Grass, so it can't be used to create a Strong Cart on 28F.
28-29F
Day | Cross Cart (28-29F), Muddy (26-28F), Spadie (26-28F), Explochin (27-29F), Kappa Pest (29-31F), MC Mage (29-31F), Digestiphant (29-30F), Scarabbit (29-30F) |
---|---|
Night | Plump Snacky (27-29F), Vile Pumphantom (28-29F) |
If you have a Dodger Pot, you can collect arrows from Cross Cart during the day on 28F.
Otherwise, continue descending during the night - Crawling Confusion is fine.
30F
Day | N'twyn (30-31F), Kappa Pest (29-31F), MC Mage (29-31F), Digestiphant (29-30F), Scarabbit (29-30F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark N'twyn (30-31F), Dark Grass Dude (30-31F) |
The last water floor for now - Crawling Confusion is fine.
N'twyn appears, so it's best to ignore items found on the ground between 30-31F.
Dark MC Wizard appears between 31-32F, so you might want to switch to daytime before advancing.
31-32F
Day | N'twyn (30-31F), Kappa Pest (29-31F), MC Mage (29-31F), Dragon (31-32F), Death Gyaza (31-33F), Porko (31-33F), Katana Bee (31-33F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark MC Wizard (31-32F), Dark N'twyn (30-31F), Dark Grass Dude (30-31F), Bad G. Zalokleft (32-33F), Dark Pot Knave (32-33F) |
N'twyn appears until 31F, so continue to ignore items found on the ground.
Strong day monsters, but it's usually safer than night since Dark MC Wizard's Berserk status can end runs.
Keep 1 slot open in a Preservation Pot if you're carrying fragrance pots to try and guard against Kappa Pests.
If you decide to progress at night regardless, use Crawling Confusion to wipe out initial Dark MC Wizards.
Players are usually struggling against day monsters by now, so avoid moving around during the day
aside from searching for the stairs or securing a spot to safely cycle time of day.
33-36F
Day | Porko (31-33F), Pot Knave (33-34F), Pumphantom (34-35F), Dazikon (34-35F), Cave Mamel (35-36F), Shagga (34-36F) |
---|---|
Night | Bad G. Zalokleft (32-33F), Evil Sky Dragon (34-36F), Dark Pot Knave (32-33F) |
Night is likely safer, but Porko and Pumphantom make it difficult to cycle time of day.
Evil Sky Dragon is dangerous in rooms - Crawling Confusion is fine.
37-38F
Day | MC Wizard (37-38F), Grass Poppa (37-38F), Eligagan (38-40F), Huistdon (38-41F), Gyairas (38-39F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Mixermon (38-39F), Dark Steamroid (36-37F), Bad Colocolum (37-38F) |
MC Wizard appears during the day, so most players rush stairs at night - Crawling Confusion is fine.
Dark Mixermon appears on 38F, so synthesize items if you want - this is likely your last realistic chance.
39-40F
Day | Eligagan (38-40F), Huistdon (38-41F), Gyairas (38-39F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Mixermon (38-39F), Evil Concusschin (39-40F), Wicked Trowelie (39-41F), Bad Colocolum (37-38F) |
Dark Mixermon appears on 39F, but don't use Crawling Confusion since Evil Concusschin spawns.
41-43F
Day | Sky Dragon (41-43F), Steelhead (41-43F), Huistdon (38-41F), Fencer (41-43), Nashagga (43-45) |
---|---|
Night | Wicked Trowelie (39-41F), Sinister Porkon (41-43F), Dark Scarabbit (41-42F), Vile Pumpanshee (41-43F) |
Hallways are dangerous without Monsterphobic - shoot arrows to check for monsters.
Rooms are also dangerous at night due to Dark Scarabbits between 41-42F - Crawling Confusion is fine.
44-46F
Day | MC Wizard (45-46F), Nashagga (43-45), Nigiri Boss (44-45F), Concusschin (44-46F), Rally Ham (44-46F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Ornery Tank (44-46F), Dark Spongiderm (44-46F), Evil Hyper Gazer (45-46F), Bad Colocolum (45-46F) |
Very dangerous both day and night - Dark Spongiderm appears, so don't use Crawling Confusion.
46-50F are water floors and Oingodile appears, so cycle to night before descending to 46F.
The ideal pace is to reach 51F (guaranteed shop) before it switches back to daytime.
47-49F
Day | Ornery Tank (47-49F), Oingodile (46-48F), Trowelie (47-49F), Super Gazer (47-49F), Porkon (49-50F) |
---|---|
Night | Evil Concusschin (47-48F), Dark Huistdon (47-48F), Dark Mixermon (46-47F), Dark Item Knave (49-50F) |
Daytime is extremely dangerous, so rush stairs at night - don't use Crawling Confusion. (49F is fine)
εFO-UZ appears between 48-49F and drops Strength Grass, but don't go out of your way to hunt them.
Remember, night only lasts 468 turns, so don't waste time synthesizing.
50-51F
Day | Strong Cart (49-51F), N'mach (50-51F), Porkon (49-50F), Jouncy (51-53F), Debaser (51-54F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Item Knave (49-50F), Dark N'mach (50-51F), Dark Vexing Kappa (50-51F) |
A shop is always generated on 51F, so be sure to check it out - Crawling Confusion is fine.
N'mach appears both day and night, so it's best to ignore items on the ground.
Moving around at night is dangerous - Dark Vexing Kappa can potentially throw Dark N'machs at you.
If you have a Dodger Pot, collect Knockback Arrows from Strong Cart.
52-60F is safer at night, so cycle to night before descending to 52F.
Late Game
It's generally best to proceed at night with Super Torch or Monsterphobic.
Check the monster table and inventory items to decide when to safely cycle time of day.
The deciding factor usually comes down to how you deal with Abyss Dragons (90-99F):
- Have Extinction Scroll
- Basically don't need to worry, so progress like normal.
- Have Zen Pot
- Wait for night on 88F, then dash to 95F to avoid Mesmerikons.
- Use Zen Pot and cycle to night on 95F+ if it changes to day.
- It's safe to cycle to night on 89-94F if you have an Immunity Scroll or Blessed Peach.
- Don't have Extinction Scroll or Zen Pot
- Common case if you had bad luck or didn't farm enemies for item drops.
- Wait for night on 88F, then don't stop until you reach the end.
- Stairlight + Transient Staff + Swap Staff can be used to save time on 91-95F (no walls).
- Can. Arm Bracelet + Swap Staff can be used on 96F+ too, so don't discard staves with 0 uses.
52-54F
Day | MC Sorceror (52-54F), Jouncy (51-53F), Vexing Kappa (52-53F), Mudster (53-54F), Pierce Cart (54-55F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Flarebird (52-53F), Dark Grass Poppa (53-55F), Dark Strong Cart (54-55F), Sinful Lt. Yanpii (53-55F) |
MC Sorceror without Monsterphobic, Reflection Pot, or Swap Shield during daytime is asking for a game over.
Dark Flarebird appears at night, so be cautious with Pot Party - Crawling Confusion is fine.
Rooms are dangerous if a Dark Strong Cart levels up.
55F
Day | Pierce Cart (54-55F), Tiger Chucker (55-57F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Dozikon (55-56F), Dark Grass Poppa (53-55F), Dark Strong Cart (54-56F), Vile Sprouterror (55-57F) |
Horrabbit appears from 56-58F, so cycle to night before descending to 56F if you don't have a Steady Shield.
It might even be worth refreshing night here if you took a long time to get through 52-54F.
If you don't have a counter to Dark Dozikon, use Crawling Confusion right away.
56-58F
Day | Horrabbit (56-58F), Spongiderm (57-59F), Curspinster (56-57F), Lashagga (58-60F), Pumpanshee (56-58F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Dozikon (55-56F), Evil Archdragon (56-57F), Dark Strong Cart (54-56F), Vile Sprouterror (55-57F) |
Both day and night are dangerous, but night is usually safer if you don't have a Steady Shield.
Use Crawling Confusion to wipe out initial Dark Dozikons and Evil Archdragons.
59-60F
Day | Spongiderm (57-59F), Lashagga (58-60F), Item Knave (59-60F), Iron Zalokleft (59-60F), Gyandora (59-60F) |
---|---|
Night | Evil Fulminachin (59-60F), Dark Mixerdon (60-62F), Plump Mealy (60-61F) |
If you have a Perceptive Pot, it might be good to hunt a few Iron Zaloklefts for items.
Dark Mixerdon appears on 60F, but don't use Crawling Confusion since Evil Fulminachin is still around.
61-63F
Day | Flarebird (61-63F), Sensei (62-64F), Grass Gramps (61-62F), Polygon Singa (61-63F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Mixerdon (60-62F), Plump Mealy (60-61F), Evil King Squid (61-62F) |
If it's daytime and you can't defeat Flarebird in a single hit, just hurry to the stairs.
Plump Mealy can be hunted at night for items - Crawling Confusion is fine.
It depends on your items, but 64-71F is usually safer at night, so cycle to night before descending to 64F.
64-66F
Day | Archdragon (66-68F), Bouncy (63-66F), Sensei (62-64F), Hyper Gazer (65-67F), Fulminachin (65-66F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Horrabbit (64-66F), Vile Pumptergeist (64-66F), Bad I. Zalokleft (64-66F), Dark Ace (66-67F) |
66-70F are water floors, so Sensei and Hyper Gazer can cause item loss - it's usually safer at night.
Use Crawling Confusion right away if you don't have a Steady Shield.
67-68F
Day | Archdragon (66-68F), Dozikon (67-68F), Hyper Gazer (65-67F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark MC Sorceror (67-69F), Bad Colocolocolum (67-69F), Dark Ace (66-67F) |
Both day and night are dangerous, but night is typically safer than daytime.
Use Crawling Confusion to wipe out initial Dark MC Sorcerors.
69-71F
Day | N'dup (70-73F), Mudder (69-72F), Hell Gyaza (70-72F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark N'dup (70-73F), Dark MC Sorceror (67-69F), Filthy Lashagga (69-70F), Sinister Porgon (70-71F) |
N'dup appears both day and night, so it's best to ignore items on the ground.
Mudder and Hell Gyaza will rush at you if you arrive on 70F (water floor) during the day.
Dark MC Sorceror still spawns on 69F, but don't use Crawling Confusion - Filthy Lashagga will one-shot you.
Crawling Confusion is quite risky to use in general from this point forward due to higher enemy stats.
Daytime is usually safer than night between 72-74F, so cycle to day on 71F if possible.
72-74F
Day | N'dup (70-73F), Porgon (74-77F), FO-UZZ (72-73F), Detonachin (73-74F), Cursenior (73-75F), Shovelie (74-75F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark N'dup (70-73F), Dark Osmammoth (72-74F), Evil Ultra Gazer (73-74F), Dark Pierce Cart (72-73F) |
Mudder and Hell Gyaza are still a threat on 72F, and keep ignoring items until 74F.
Dangerous combination of Dark Osmammoth and Evil Ultra Gazer at night - be cautious with Pot Party.
If you have a way to deal with Evil Ultra Gazer, you might want to cycle to night on 72-73F and rush to 79F.
Leveled up Dark Pierce Carts have the potential to one-shot you inside rooms.
75-76F
Day | Porgon (74-77F), Knave King (75-76F), Cursenior (73-75F), Shovelie (74-75F), Mealy (75-76F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Blazebird (75-76F), Dark Kappa Troll (75-76F), Dark Knave King (75-76F), εFO-UZZ (76-77F) |
Porky Rocks fly at you during the day, and floor items at night.
Terrabbit and Boingodiles are up next, so cycle to night before descending to 77F.
77-78F
Day | Terrabbit (77-78F), Porgon (74-77F), Boingodile (77-79F), Pumptergeist (77-79F), Squidperor (78-79F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Grass Gramps (77-78F), εFO-UZZ (76-77F), Evil Detonachin (78-79F) |
Daytime is a nightmare, but 77F is safe at night - hunt εFO-UZZ for blessed Revival Grass.
It's best to descend to 79F before it switches to daytime.
79F
Day | Boingodile (77-79F), Pumptergeist (77-79F), Squidperor (78-79F) |
---|---|
Night | Evil Detonachin (78-79F), Vile Sproutitan (79-80F) |
Pumptergeist is annoying, but it's usually safer to cycle to night on this floor, then rush to 85F.
Otherwise you'll have to deal with Kappa Troll + Gitan Mamel + Osmammoth + Kleptoad during the day.
However, if you feel like Dark Mesmerikon is a bigger threat, go ahead and try daytime.
80-83F
Day | Gitan Mamel (80-82F), Kappa Troll (80-81F), Osmammoth (80-83F), Kleptoad (80-82F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Mesmerikon (81-82F), Vile Sproutitan (79-80F), Snide Kleptoad (80-81F) |
There's risk of getting one-shot by Gitan during the day on 80-82F, so most proceed at night.
Clear out initial Dark Mesmerikons using Crawling Confusion, then rush to the stairs.
84-85F
Day | Blazebird (84-85F), Gyandoron (83-85F), Tiger Ace (84-86F), Polygon Stunna (84-85F) |
---|---|
Night | Foul Cursenior (84-85F) |
If daytime, rush to the stairs without attacking monsters - otherwise you'll be overwhelmed by Blazebirds.
Dark Terrabbit appears next, so you might want to cycle to daytime before descending to 86F.
86-87F
Day | Nigiri King (86-88F), Tiger Ace (84-86F), Boss Yanpii (86-88F), Zalokleft King (87-89F) |
---|---|
Night | Dark Terrabbit (86-87F), Bad Zalokleft King (86-87F) |
Nigiri King is a bit scary during the day, but should be better than Dark Terrabbit at night.
If night, use Crawling Confusion right away if you don't have a Steady Shield.
88F
Day | Nigiri King (86-88F), Boss Yanpii (86-88F), Zalokleft King (87-89F), Zotdon (85-88F) |
---|---|
Night | Evil Abyss Dragon (88-99F), Evil Squidperor (88-90F) |
This is the last floor where you can safely cycle time of day without Zen Pot, Immunity Scroll, etc.
It's best to cycle to a fresh night before descending to 89F, since it's typically non-stop until 99F from here.
Don't waste any turns after descending - ignore floor items unless they're directly in your path.
89-94F
Day | Ultra Gazer (89-91F), Mesmerikon (89-94F), Abyss Dragon (90-99F), Doom Gyaza (89-91F), Swordmaster (90-92F) |
---|---|
Night | Evil Abyss Dragon (88-99F), Dark Cranky Tank (89-90F), Evil Squidperor (88-90F), Filthy Bashagga (90-99F), Dark Gitan Mamel (89-91F) |
Use Stairlight and rush to the stairs - don't waste a single movement on anything other than going for the stairs.
If daytime, use an applicable defensive item like Immunity Scroll or blessed Peach - but save Zen Pot for 95-96F.
91-95F don't have walls, so you might be able to throw Swap Staff to take a shortcut.
95-99F
Day | Abyss Dragon (90-99F), Cranky Tank (95-96F), Despoiler (89-99F), Elizgagon (89-99F) |
---|---|
Night | Evil Abyss Dragon (88-99F), Filthy Bashagga (90-99F), Dark Zotdon (92-99F) |
If daytime, use a Zen Pot if you have one to make Cranky Tanks and Abyss Dragon's flame a non-issue.
Otherwise, just keep going with Stairlight and efficient movement - you're almost finished!
